Belonging
Were you one of those kids who attempted to feign ill on the day of the dreaded gym class dodgeball game? Me too. It’s not that I hated the game. Competition, playing hard, and being part of a team gives me great satisfaction. It was becoming part of that team that plagued me with anxiety.

As we begin the secular descent into holiday hell, which seems to have replaced the holy season of Advent and the Incarnation (Christmas), I reflect on those things that I’ve been blessed with: I consider the very simple, modest beginnings of our first home in the city, second-hand furniture, tiny yard, and lots of PB&J.
